-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As we are taking 2008 off to write and record the next Moonbabies full-length album, it's time to give you a little treat. This EP is long out of print, so what's better than to give it to you free.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A little about the EP: This EP was originally printed as a 500 copy limited edition 7" single, and released in the USA in the spring of 2002. I remember that we were in the middle of the recording session for 'The Orange Billboard' when we got the idea to release an "in-between" album material EP of new material. For me personally, the concept of 4 song EPs are somewhat of the ultimate format, and 'Standing on the Roof/Filtering the daylight' is special. The vinyl was pretty sweet, handpressed on thick paper 19th Century Style and also with an unique color for every copy of the vinyl.
About the Songs: 'Over my head' was one of the earliest Moonbabies songs I ever wrote (although it was very, very different back when i wrote it), and this version was kept almost identical (except for some details) for the Orange Billboard album. I love this track, because of it's organic feel and emotional range between sadness, hate/anger & calmness. It was a very fast recording, just took some hours to get right. Which is very unusual for Moonbabies...
The next song on the EP also appeared on Billboard, but in a very different version. The title was also changed from 'Forever Changes Nothing Now' to ...Everything Now. Remember we wrote it in my living room the same day we wrote another song called 'Ghost of Love'. Anyway, this is one of our favorite songs. This version is unpolished and not as great as the one that turned up on the album. But still a good listen.
On the B-side we put our more experimental side to the test. Sometimes when Carina and I get bored or uninspired in the studio we play our new demo tracks reversed, which sometimes REALLY hits you like a hammer because it's just so dramatically different or surprising. 'Come on, Come On, While We're Young' was a darling of Carina. She went nuts about the main loop, and we started fool around in the studio. Turned out pretty good, Moonbabies vs. MBV good. The originally song we looped was called 'In The Banshees' which is only available on a Japanese CD.
The last song, starts of with a interlude played on the Piano, which was ecorded on location at a wine-bar in Lübeck, Germany. 'Homegrown' is definately one of my favorite Moonbabies B-side songs. Today I would have done it a little different, I guess, but this version captures a warm and melancholy feeling I love.. We called it 'Homegrown' because it deals with all the feeling still inside of you from your home... Good or bad memories, it's always a part of you.
Enjoy! / Ola

Moonbabies took the stage last Friday, and did an excellent show for a totally packed venue at Eurosonic Festival, their first show in Holland ever. The gig was recorded for TV (Rockpalast, Germany - Cineversity, Holland) and Radio (European Broadcasting Union). Dutch National TV reportedly also broadcasted some of the concert. On stage with Ola & Carina was Åsa Gjerstad (Cello, Piano) & Per Nordborg (Drums). As soon as we'll know we will announce the broadcasting of TV & Radio. Rock n´Roll!
The set for the night was:

- Sun A.M. (With some weird technical problem with the guitar!)
- Fieldtrip USA
- Cocobelle
- The Orange Billboard
- Walking on my Feet
- Shout it Out
- Take me to the Ballroom
"Swedish band Moonbabies play the most blissful indie-pop imaginable, what Stars might sound like if they hadn't decided to go off and listen to The Corrs. " - Jim Carroll, On the Record, The Irish Times
"Sonnigster schwedischer Cardigans-Pop, jetzt endlich auch in Resteuropa. Kommen live mit Engelsflügeln, Grubenlampen und Seifenblasenmaschine." - Christian Steinbrink, Intro.de
